MHOF Exhibit Showcases Motocross History

Motocross America: The Early Years at San Diego Automotive Museum.

San Diego, CA - The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museums exhibit Motocross America: The Early Years began its national tour on April 1st at the San Diego Automotive Museum. The exhibit showcases the history of motocross for audiences in Southern California, a regional home for many racing champions, past and present. The exhibit runs through June 25, 2008.

On Saturday May 17th the opening of the exhibit will be celebrated by scores of motocross champions from the past and present. The museum opens at 10:00AM that morning and the champions will arrive starting at 1:00PM and be available for autographs. Admission is just $8.00 for adults. At 5:30 PM the doors will open for the huge celebration party in a lovely outdoor setting behind the museum. Famed race announcer and Motorcycle Hall of Famer Larry Huffman will be the master of ceremonies at this important event to help raise money for the non-profit San Diego Auto Museum. Many of motocross’s most famous legends have already committed to this event, including 4-time World Motocross Champion and Suzuki Team Manager Roger DeCoster, Team Suzuki rider Mike Allessi, and past champions such as Broc Glover, Gary Jones, Gary Bailey, David Bailey, and Marty Tripes. National media is also expected to attend. 25 framed pictures of many of the famous athletes that will be present will be signed and offered for auction along with many other items donated by the champions. Listen to Larry Huffman as he interviews the champions about the glory days of the sport of motocross both present and past. Cost for this special evening that includes dinner is $75.00.
